this looks like somebody had a bad experience on a server - which is exactly why i would never play this game on a server with other players, at least in its current form.
the pirates are annoying, but real people can be intolerable jerks. :(
ok i finally decided to try to update my launcher because i was tired of the 'you've got an old launcher' error. i've tried using the lynux version and i've tried removing and re-installing java 64-bit. now the launcher opens, but i get the "can't start the java machine server" error. help...
that's funny, because i did actually find a pyramid. the fact that it was cut off didn't phase me, i figured, hey it's an acient ruin. and i made my base there for a while.
hmmm... i changed the config to 15 from the default of 10 to see if it would work - and it did for me. are you moving the sliders to their maximum position in the gui? the config is the max number, not the one you start with when you push ctrl. you have to adjust the 3 sliders up to their...
i've had a similar issue with ship i've saved and then i /load. the weapon system links don't seem to translate, leaving everything disconnected. i agree, very irritating for complex weapon systems or very large ones.
i concur. yes, once close to a ship you can orient yourself to its position, but i'm always trying to roll to correct myself on approach to the entrance to a ship, then remembering i can't do that...
i've continued to fiddle with this, (i'm using GIMP) the only difference between your file and the defaults that i can discern is that the color on yours is "indexed" and the color on the others is "RGB". i don't pretend to know exactly what that means or if it has to do with the problem. :(
i tried genning a skin using your files after renaming them. i didn't get the error you did, but i did get the "i am star-made and i hate intel graphics cards" error. hmmm...
what is the exact filename of the primary skin? if it has a hyphen (-) in it maybe starmade doesn't like that? if the full filename is "izumi-png.4584.png" as it is showing when i downloaded to take a look, it probably doesn't recognize the file type because of the two periods. try renaming...
i have to be careful about jumping to my home sector, because a large planet is right next to the coordinates. if i jump there exactly, i wind up close to the gravity well. you may have a similar situation but the planet's core is close to the coordinates. i'd say jump to an adjacent sector...
