      Flip-flop switch unlocks

it's as simple as that. I'm building an elevator shaft on my station, and I need to use the flip-flop tool to move the rail elevator. Currently, whenever I activate the flip-flop module, the elevator undocks. Trying to solve this, I put the flip-flop module behind the rails, and now there's no...

      Predicted Flight Path Indicators

This guy hit the nail on the head. I didn't want something super calculated. Just a line representing the vector, so you can lead the enemy ship. This guy too

      Predicted Flight Path Indicators

I hadn't've thought of the teleportation that AI ships do, or the processing power cost. I guess this brings more support for implementing an "turn on and off in the settings" feature rather than a "targeting computer" feature, since not everybody has great internet connection or a great...

      Predicted Flight Path Indicators

You are right, Valiant70, that's the premise I started this thread on. I think that's a very innovative idea, and maybe, with this feature added, one could fire and take out their enemy's targeting computers. This could also be useful when firing dumbfire missiles, and perhaps increase their...

      Predicted Flight Path Indicators

Interesting. I wonder... do you know the maximum default range for a cannon? I always thought the cannon went much farther.

      Predicted Flight Path Indicators

Interesting. What exactly is "advanced targeting"? I can't think of anything more than a flight path and a difference of velocity. Mind you, I'm not a real-life fighter pilot or an aerospace engineer. Fighters are the exact reason I thought this up. I was playing a Newtonian space fighter game...

      Predicted Flight Path Indicators

Anyone who has gotten into a ship battle on starmade knows that whenever you're moving or your target is moving, you fire your cannons in front of the target to compensate for their speed relative to your speed. Currently, all you have is a hitmarker, which leaves you to guess the sweet spot...

      11x11x11 Power Reactor Producing 104659.6

This is a great design, however, it requires a considerable amount of power modules. On my larger ships, I usually make the outline of a rectangular prism on the edges of say a hallway in the ship or a room, with opposing vertices void of power blocks. I usually get plenty of power regen for my...

Collision Damage: Pros and Cons (I can break through any hull)

Ahhh... Physics. My favorite academic subject, as well as my favorite subject in games. From when a character flies across the map, limbs strangely elongated and oscillating, to Kerbal Space Program, we all know physics. In Starmade, though, physics are strange. In space there is rotational...

A discussion on the usefulness of fighters

In singleplayer, I don't do it for the loot, I do it for fun, mostly. I know and have utilized nearly every one, except I'm limiting myself to manufacturing for my own sake. I have an extremely vivid imagination, and I'm really just doing this to excel the "story" in my head. I discovered this...

A discussion on the usefulness of fighters

DISCLAIMER: I have never experienced starmade on another server or with many other players, so what I'm saying could be wrong. In the past few updates, it has gotten much harder to build ships, especially with viable weapon systems and advanced hulls. In singleplayer, I often have to take my...

How to solve all of Star Made's problems

I admit, I usually only play singleplayer, and when I do play online, its with close friends and not random people. I'm only speaking in theory. I also do not mean to aggravate you, I was simply speaking my mind, which is technically what you're seeking with this forum article. Otherwise, this...

      Fix the NPCs

I'm sorry for the inconvenience, I had no idea that the NPC's weren't completely implemented. Tis a shame, however, since I have a bad graphics core as well as a mediocre internet service; singleplayer often gets lonely without a crew. *sigh* I guess I'd better put some money in this darned...

How to solve all of Star Made's problems

I think this is an alright idea. It would really help with immersion, but it would only make this more of a minecraft clone. The Newbs would die either way, since food is a valuable resource. However, it would decrease the need for war. If everyone is just "surviving" nobody will have time for...

      Fix the NPCs

Let's be honest here, if you're lonely and limited only to a singleplayer game, or you need brainless slaves to walk around and look like they're doing something in your factory or science lab, your best bet is to invest in some NPCs. Don't get me wrong, they're alright if they're just standing...

      Volatility

I think this is a pretty cool idea. And maybe the volatility of a system is based on the power output or storage, making fighter-based power systems less volatile while larger ships are a bit more vulnerable.

Any easier ways to obtain Logbooks?

I was wondering if there was a command or something that gave me logbooks. I'm trying to make a "storyline" to my universe and I'll probably try posting it so people can play it; kind of like custom maps in Minecraft. Thing is, in order to create a world, have seemingly interactive dialogue...

      star need more to them

I also think different types of suns would be awesome. Binary systems would be cool. And if they were different colors depending on their damage dealt out and different sizes. Actually, come to think of it, stars could be overhauled. Compared to other space exploration games, these stars suck.

      Volatility

I don't know about this. It would make fighters hella vulnerable and a lot less resilient.
