Biggest problem I find is looking at a large ship you didn't build and trying to find the actual ship core so you can fly it around. Kind of hard to do with all the turrets and docked ships.

I myself don't really have a distinctive colour scheme. I use predominantly white with black trim, maybe a splash of red in there, but other than that I just use whatever tickles my fancy :P Haven't really built enough ships for it to be necessary either, I just build whatever I want lol

It hurts my brain to read paragraphs with no punctuation besides the occasional full stop that manages to wriggle into the middle of a sentence. Wanting to see proper grammar and spelling is not a Nazi thing to do either, especially when it is as bad as yours (no offense). Like JimmyJamba said...
