Before things like this, I'd rather have system generation itself fixed. Asteroids shouldn't spawn in every empty sector, systems shouldn't have half a million planets, and void space shouldn't be so damn small. ...After that stuff is fixed, then we can talk about different types of systems...

Nah, in the next update there should be what's already in there (Crafting update, signs, fixed area trigger rendering in build mode, etc.), plus some kind of farming system. You'll see why. :P (Chairs, ladders, and other functional furniture would be good in the following update, but meh)

There COULD be fuel cells for personal jetpacks, or at least for large ones which need more powerful engines, which is what I had attempted to imply.

Perhaps the spacesuit could have small inbuilt thrusters, and thrust packs would just make you go faster. (Or they'd compensate for the mass of extra armor, kind of like thrusters do for ships) ...And... becoming a fighter should totally be possible. It would just be pointlessly expensive, and...
