I've been building with cargo in mind for a wee while. I'm surprised it hasn't been implemented sooner with just carrying the blocks. My freighter designs are modular, with a large cargo container design. Thrust will be a problem, but I'm not intending to have super fast freighters or at least...
I know similar suggestions around remote control have been proposed, such as...

Would it be feasible to incorporate a handheld remote control? Like the flashlight/torch we can carry/buy.
I personally would welcome such a device.
This would...
I did mention the transponder, which is pretty much the beacon but without the ability to initiate transport.
The remote would be where you could control the transporter remotely and anything else for that matter. Even a push effect to cause the ship to descend to the planet surface or eject a...
I agree, the charge time is a good way to control its use, but I'm not sure we need a beacon at all.
I would prefer a type of transponder, that doesn't do anything unless you have some sort of separate portable wireless logic remote control for your transporter. This would behave exactly the...
I have often pondered the question around the limits, but thanks to this discussion you guys have had, it has given me a much better appreciation for the incredible work the Schine guys are doing.
From what I understand after reading rasinbats idea, it's very similar to how we use the game.
The...
Wow, this came through to me as an e-mail alert. The first one I've seen since I've been using Starmade Dock.
Yeah, I've played around with the rails for a while now and have used the logic for remote undocking from both sides, but thought it was weird how the docker turns it's head like that...
Hi Schine,
I may have mentioned this somewhere else, but would love to be able to automate my docking.
What I would like is for logic input to activate the beam like with harvester cannon computers instead of changing the orientation of the block.
This would allow for a lot of automation...
I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but when I harvest the beam appears to harvest from the far side, or at least prioritise the far side instead of the first block it hits.
I tend to line up two or more asteroids for my automated asteroid munching harvester. Last night I noticed it...
I was hoping for this kind of game play with transporters too! Hopefully it can be implemented. I like the idea of having to lower shields either manually or forcibly, and also the idea that you can harmonize your transporters and shields to work together like they do in Star Trek. The harmony...
I would prefer a disruptive effect where the shields gradually or instantly lose a percentage of power based on how many people or objects are transported. I don't like the idea of the shields going down completely. Or did I misread that.
This new update is awesome!
I like the new textures, very cool! :)
Sorry to say, but I had a few weird issues though;
Exiting the core into near by blocks. Found a way around this, enter build mode an aim at a near by empty space. It appears like I can aim my exit point. Is this a new feature...
Hey Congratulations Parameter!
Same to you too SirRadAlotMore, Panpiper and StormWing0.
Sorry, for not recognising this earlier. I guess I'm a little self absorbed lately.
Didn't see any missiles. It sort of slinked it's way out of sight. :-)
Well, I found an interesting Battle Mode config option in the server config file. So, I might try this out. It allows for setting up Team A & B factions and spectators. Operates in sector 0 0 0 by default, but looks like...
I assigned my fleet to TG and yours to Pirate factions. I had a player in each faction as well as myself not affiliated to any faction. Myself and the TG player had a cloaked ship. I did not end up using my own player at all, but will organise things a bit better for next time.
I would like to...
Well, I had a go at setting up a battle with PanPiper's fleet. The battle only lasted 5mins, but I spent a little time mucking around setting up and having a look at the debris. Was fun to watch and interesting to see how my computer performed running the server, 3 clients and my capture...
Sorry Ithirahad, guys. I skimmed through a little too quickly and was thinking something else in my head and mixed the two.
I was thinking about the forcefield door blocks and imagined a type of replacement effect, so it would seem similar to the forcefields that appear in Star Trek hull...
