So, I just realized that we COULD use the Video UI element for a bit of fancy fluff in our block UIs... Could have a little animation of locking/unlocking on the faction block interface.
Erth Paradine , that is a horrible rule. If no admin is in error, they will be able to explain what happened. Not allowing players to publicly call administrator action into question will simply breed more distrust, whether or not any admin has done anything wrong.
"big ships" are OK sometimes... PvPing with a ship that can crash servers if its docked reactors come loose should be a bannable offense on any server IMO.
Setting a hard mass limit is just frustrating; unless there are tons of incidents I prefer having them dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
I understand; I'm actually quite happy to see these things in the game. These accessibility features were needed, and it's a good time to add them as many basic features are in a state that allows the tutorials to be put in. The main menu is great too; it should be a lot less confusing for...
To be clear, we ARE moving back into content after the upcoming update that finishes up the launcher, right?
(Bench, Criss, @whoever might be listening)
The last five updates have been excellent, but in the current state of the game, the lack of features and things to keep people engaged is...
If you were going to slap all that hull on your ship anyway, wouldn't it be more 'optimal' to also use it to cover systems? With a ship like that, whether or not the hull is useless, it's doing about half the job that it might be able to do if it were a doom wedge of its same mass and armor...
The lighting engine got some work in an attempt to fix lighting/shading issues. If memory serves, it's still bugged and disabled, but I guess a side effect is that things got laggier? IDK.
Oh, I forgot to mention... schema , it'd be nice if the info on the loading screen were larger. When "downloading block config" and that stuff is that small, it's easy to not even notice it.
The file is the server config in your StarMade folder, but if you try to set it to read-only the game will delete it and replace it... You'll have to wait for a fix.
I wouldn't say that grey or cinematic palettes are a 'trend'; they're just a design choice. Also, I like some of the unrealistic colour. Blue frozen dirt, dark blue rock on Mars planets, bright colourful unrefined ores and metal ingots... And the simple skybox style fits the game pretty well...
The ores can keep their bright colors, and targeting the asteroid still reveals what it has. Plus, I never said to literally turn all the asteroids grey. I'm just saying to tone down the raw rock.
Yeah, raw rocks probably should be colour-tinted, rather than colour-painted. Like in real life, refining and polishing up the stone should bring out the colour. Besides, game or not, I find that the bright confetti asteroids look awfully silly.
Like the past... two years? It seems that every update they've been saying that they're building towards bigger things and better and faster releases... I understand that development can take a long time, but after a certain point you have to admit that you're not talking about "soon," but...
I don't recommend this, as it may in future updates, or due to bugs, or whatever... result in your entities all spontaneously undocking. This is not something Schema's coded for, I don't think, so expect issues.
By "large" I don't mean NuclearDoughnut's kilometer-long GPU detonators, I just mean 400-500m capital vessels. Those are well over the size that can run efficiently (or even enjoyably) without docked reactors or their equivalent.
