      To me, because - especially in Starmade - development man-hours are very finite, and implementing a new "weapon array" thingy would probably take significantly more time than shrinking turrets by letting you put secondary systems in the turret base.       I dislike the new movies because they just don't feel right, to me, for a Star Trek movie (granted, many of the old ones were crap) but yeah, the butthurt is comically strong with this one...

      Vertically connecting server boxes! That alone is a huge improvement. The changes to pipe tiling are nice too... I'm not sure if I like the heavy inside shadows, though. They just feel... weird.

      The main reason why they did this, I think, is to make suns scarier; people used to be able to fly into the sun and just tank the damage, which is not the way it's supposed to work...       Yes, but this isn't BP spawning. It's throwing together a 'blueprint' (or an entity, depending on how you do it) from several randomly-generated files.

      Right now spawning just loads blueprints, but mix-and-matching ships from various predefined parts shouldn't be all that impossible to implement. It WOULD, however, take some time; it's a whole new system.

      Fleet mining is completely broken this update. It's a known bug, but what isn't known is when it'll get fixed. (Soon, though, since the next major goal for Schine is to get the Trading Guild and new station/shop assets into the game, which requires AI and fleet mining to work)

      Fleet AI is atrocious.

      Test sectors are still (very) broken, but we've spawned or repaired multiple ships using shipyards and the turrets have stayed in place.
