If 3 items share a subtree name, add a horizontal line between these and others.
If 5 or more items share a subtree name, put these on top of the list and make a + switch.

I prefer modules-requirements (like CPU) over core restrictions too.
But maybe we could get bigger (more expensive) versions of blocks (a 2x2x2 or 5x5x5 block) to reduce lag from large ships ;)
I do like the idea of huge ships taking massive amounts of damage when entering the atmosphere as well.
What is huge? 100 metres? or >50? Maybe ships with more than 1 million energy production.

You can somehow limit max speed differently for different ship types.
Just increase the decay (server setting) and you need a lot of thrusters - the higher the speed, the more thrust you need to compensate for the decay (=percentage of current sped).
Cloak-jammed ships are very limited. 1...
Also, this entire suggestion sucks. It asks for a crash similator that allows tiny ships to smash holes in large ships, with no considering of shields or anything.
your shields could block kinetic energy from crashes. if you have enough power left.

Maybe shields can stay at 30-70% charge if you don\'t charge them before combat.
But completely off shields are a bad idea (maybe except for cloak, but even then you should have 5-10%).

I already thought about remote-controled flex-doors.
You can make a hull of flexes and get 2x or 3x the shield power for an equal number blocks (the hull below the flexes is a docked ship.
Maybe you can make a ship made of flex doors, move to the enemy and close all -> trapped...
Warp should not be a seperate world, but after each edit, each object could update some kind of preview (low resolution) of itself with simplified holes in it\'s shape.
While warping do others look (or you to others) a bit like a ghost.
