I should also mention this completely nullifies the need for jumpgates. I traveled to the adjacent galaxy in less than 10 minutes with about 40 1-block jumpdrives and without even flying the ship on my own.
You can also bypass interdiction with this if your drive is strong enough. Itll...
Lol no you guys are all missing it. I'm not stuck in the floor. I'm sitting on a wedge seat on the bridge of my ship. The ship is jumping all by itself!
This is what the bridge looks like when not jumping:
I don't know what kind of whacked up combat experience you've had, but most fights i've been in (on large 10-12km sectored servers with high speed limits) were all at very close range, like 1-5km distance. From my experience, most ship encounters actually happen at manual aiming distance range...
Yeah, but now that there are literally half a dozen safeguards and prevention/recovery mechanisms in place for the loss-of-ship emergency, the no-friction should be re-enabled by default IMO.
Maybe you are playing on an older version and don't realize it, or on a server where that function is somehow disabled. But auto-syncing you when you hit R so you don't fall out of your ship when it's moving is a normal feature of the current gamestate. I experience it all the time. If you want...
Actually, you can catch it. Overdrive defensive effect or Offensive stop effect. Or jump to the sector in front of it's path and prepare to catch it there.
Besides, any ships that drift far enough will eventually stop once they reach an unloaded sector.
You can't be ejected from your ship anyway...
Yea you're right I guess. I can't really complain much. The only one I ever see get real enforcer-ish about things is MrFurb but hes nice about it at least.
Also dog dammit I burned my barbequed chicken tenders and now my house smells like a smoking lounge.
Clever use of strawman, but no. I'm saying it's fine if you want to implement this, and maybe it will give a bit more usefulness to credits, but it probably won't be enough to get people to bother carrying credits on them all the time.
Which would you rather do with a toll gate that's not...
Yeah, but as a general rule, credits aren't that useful anymore, since nowadays people almost exclusively produce their stuff by mining/factory production. Now yeah, maybe a year+ ago, credits were a big thing, back when ships were still buy-with-credits by default. But not anymore. People...
The thing is that on most big servers that you'll find the people on, where it's even remotely worth building such gate networks if they're intended for public use, is that shops are quite rare to come by, and oftentimes servers these days have "drop all credits on death" rules, like SS does. It...
