dont make the majority of the exterior use wedges. you are dealing with lots of unique shapes and curves here that will end up looking distorted with wedges placed on them. it looks better without them and is much easier to build on public online servers

Your idea is interesting, but it sounds kinda hacky, a little like how the whole spherical planets suggestions have been. I dont have very high hopes about this, but then again I don't have a problem with the edges on planets being "jagged" or whatever.

You can already do this in the block config file OP. Although I do not recommend it because it tends to break ships if you don't know what you're doing.

This is all true, but the thing is that setting it up is still quite difficult, time-consuming, and can take much longer if you don't know exactly what to do (something that i'm betting turns off less-experienced players and makes them less likely to play online).

Agreed with OP 100%. Making hull blocks right now is a pain in the butt because of how lengthy and complicated the factory process is when dealing with colored blocks.

Yes this is true, that would be such a time-saver if you could copy storage filters by just copying the blocks with copy/paste.

This is not true. All ships start overheating at 50% system HP. IMO your ship really should die at 0% system HP. It makes much more sense that way. It could easily be readjusted so that what we know of now as 50% HP becomes 0% HP. You do understand that's not how the HP system works right...
