The beta launcher.
It's the config tool that comes with Java. Used to do the same to get Minecraft to run on my sons netbook.
Doing it this way has improved my game, using the same (similar) controls did not.
I am now able to run the game with the same settings I had before the update. I may...
I may have cracked it! I've changed the memory allocation settings in the Java Configuration tool.
I added -Xmx4096M -Xms4096M to my Java memory allocation settings and everything seems to run smoothly again. The settings in the launcher don't appear to work.
My framerates have gone through the floor since the update. MP stutters like hell unless I'm in a sector with nothing in it. Add in a ship, station, shop or asteroid and I'm struggling to get 10-15fps. SP is almost unplayable.
Have checked Java, memory settings and now playing with in game...
My issue was with the recent Java update to version 101.
The 64bit version was removed and my PC reverted back to the 32bit version.
A bit of uninstalling and reinstalling managed to solve the issue. If you're still having problems maybe this might help you out?
Scratch that! Game loads to main menu. Launched single player universe and the game crashes at the spawn window.

I've just updated my Java to Update 101 and I cannot load the game anymore! Now trying to fix it! Grrrrrr!
I have just tried this and my game loads! It seems that the version 101 update has killed the normal operation of the game. I hope this can be fixed ASAP!
I haven't tried with some of the more recent updates but I don't believe that there have been any updates to the the fleet mechanics.
Recently, I had a drone carrier docked to my station. The dock was aligned to galactic centre. The carrier was then launched and tasked with a mission. It would...
Came here through a link ona recent JaceMachine video on YouTube. Downloaded v1.3, created a skin, clicked the link to the files and it's all there. Wouldn't let me copy it to my game folder from there so I went in another way and the "GeneratedSkins" folder doesn't show up at all!
I reran the...
Here is my stealth scout ship The Unseen Eyes. She can maintain cloak and radar jamming travelling at maximum speed AND charging its 800 module jump drive (fully charged in about 8 seconds). It also has a scanner which has a single antenna block. It also carries a Transporter!
Me too! Had to respawn to get back to normal. I was playing multiplayer so it was squeaky bum time for a while thinking I had lost all my work or was going to have to wait for a fix before I could play again!
I was building a new design in the shipyard and went into the test sector.....BAD MISTAKE!!!! You cannot exit the test sector! All you get is the tutorial videos pop-up and cannot exit. I quit to menu and logged back in....back in test sector! I quit to desktop and reloaded the game....stuck in...
I have just notice this on my game and was wondering if anyone else had?
It's not exactly a "bug" but it would appear that two of the default Isanths have been duplicated.
I bought the blueprint for the Mc version an wondered why I was getting the shotgun weapon. Thinking that I had got...
Out of interest, would this effect how the ai would use the thrust? So, if you had a small fighter set up as above would the performance be the same as if you was flying it?
With the exception of adding auto damping to a couple of ship types I have never really played with thrust setups.
That is worth a thought. Again I thought that maybe there would be power inefficiencies by having a physical damage weapon when the ion would reduce the shields quicker.
If the overall power of the weapon was insufficient to cause both physical AND shield damage in one beam, I thought it would...
I'm building an remotely operated platform and I simply wanted to be as efficient with power as possible.
When the target shields were depleted, I wanted the beam to be causing some physical damage rather than simply wasting energy depleting already depleted shields. An EMP beam will be used in...
OK, I am planning to build an automated siege platform to take on pirate stations and will set up a number of beams to sit there and pound the station.
Taking the Ion supported beam as an example, am I correct in thinking that at 100% support, it does 0 physical damage? So if the station has no...
