Right now, shields aren't even necessary, because every core has a low standard shield, and when you get a few ion effect modules (how many depends on the ship mass), you'll have an invincible ship (just don't forget to leave the ion effect modules on, and don't accidentally exit...

      To those of you watching this thread: in the new update (0.158) shields aren't necessary! Apparently just having 100% ion defense effect gives you an invincible ship. So: don't waste credits on shields, spend everything on weapons (and a few ion modules). It's kind off fun to have overpowered...

      Another, and this time really, bug. Using the stop effect as a defensive effect does the same as the overdrive module, but for a lot less energy. If I'm not mistaken, stop effect modules should, when used defensively, create an anti gravity field and your ship shouldn't be affected by gravity.

      I have alreay said this, but somehow the old ores still spawn. I'm guessing that this is a bug, but I don't know if anyone is aware of it yet. It appears that only the level 3 ores still spawn. (Almost certainly a bug, because all of the old ores shouldn't spawn anymore)

      Not really. It took me just over 2 hours in the new update to get 625 salvaging beams and 625 cannons. It would have taken me only about 20 minutes to build that ship then, but I wanted to put some armament and shields on, and those took the longest to find (actually, it was the energy blocks).
