I've tried something similar but with 10x10x10 perfectly proportional ship systems. I basically just copy paste them into a custom hull and trim off the bits that stick out. Trimming takes some extra work but I think that It's worth it. Especially since there's no way for me to use that modular...
It kind of renders ships that rely more on higher agility to get in a target's dead zone useless. I don't think that completely denying a certain playstyle is the right thing to do. But then again, both your factions favor "brute" type ships. Heavy weapons and shielding with lower agility.
Isn't pulling back to allow shields/power to recharge for a sec or two before charging back in a valid tactic?
Besides, kitting on sector edges shouldn't be confused with strafing.
Kitting as you define it isn't really a problem on servers like Elwyn which have 10km large sectors. That's also why I think that default server size should be set at 5km.
I would like to direct your attentions to this magical thread:
The Intergalactic summit
A place where you can freely argue without impeding on any faction's thread!
The damage of a slave is added to the main weapon system. So two weapon systems of 100 blocks will have the same total dps as a single 100 block weapon with a 100 block slave (200 blocks total in both cases).
The only exception to this rule is when using damage beams as slave. The additional...
Well, if someone managed to find my ship. Defaction it and disarm the security system then I think they would deserve to keep it. But the chances of that ever happening are almost null.
I did think of that, but the AI is extremely derpy and they'd just start shooting through my ship :p . I may make the hangar doors for the bigger ships in there, though.
Thanks a lot, that is going to be extremely useful!!!
Well, I haven't figured the password part yet. But the pulse will be activated when someone (or a core) gets in the core room via area triggers. And I'm not too worried about block count since I have plenty of space :p
Oh yes, that's already planned!
Along with a password encrypted damage pulse inside the core room. So even if you dig through the walls there's no way you're getting it, this also makes faction members unable to use it without permission. Essentially an additional protection against theft.
Good point, but the two red crystals at the back of the turrets are there so that I can get red missiles. There's unfortunately nothing I can do about that.
I think that I'll switch out the white parts for grey on the main body and black into grey and white into black on the turrets.
The small fighters: Oblivion drones C9
Comes equipped with two rapid fire missile turrets, twin web beams and a very powerful vertical launch double missile system located at the back. That's really the best looks I could get without completely slashing stats. Mass is 80.
The cruiser: Reaper...
Why do people keep comparing to real life??? The longest naval vessel ever built is the now decommissioned USS Enterprise (actual name, I'm not joking) aircraft carrier at 342 meters long.
Carriers in this game can be over 1km long and could carry multiple 100-200 meters long ships...
