That salvage laser looks awesome. I do like the grid effect in starmade though - it's rather unique, but I don't think it should get used for every effect. A flickering "V" laser like the one in that video combined with an improved grid effect would look great imo.

That is a good point. I love how wedges and Kupu's amazing textures make the game less blocky. (if only I could say the same for interiors!) Maybe dodecahedron shields. :P But I don't know how badly that would kill performance.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm still not comfortable with the idea though, what if I wanted to build a Borg cube? It limits the freedom of what you can build, it seems to me.

I really like the "Derelict Repair Depot," but I don't think it makes the best abandoned station. Maybe there could be a new, non-abandoned category for things like repair stations, drydocks, fuel depot, etc?

Yeah, the salvage beam could have a "V" shaped beam encompassing the block, and the power supply beam could be a wire connecting to the block instead. But that should go into a different topic, really.

70% is ridiculous. Ships need actual guts too. And how is the game going to identify "interior?" And why would a ship need 70% vacuum anyways if it already has 5..10% interior?

I think I'd prefer turrets still needing their own "undershield." It means fighters are better at getting in close and taking them out. And if turrets all shared the same shield with the ship, then all their shields would go down at once, and fighters could take out all the turrets without...

I'd much rather see smoother, wedged planet terrain than nauseating teleportations when I step over a block.

I really like this. The lore was pretty interesting, and I like the super-armored style and size of your ships. They really give your universe personality.
