      I thought more of scrapping docking modules and keep enhancers + give target enhancer of a docking beam docking block abilities. That would remove 1 block from the shop and inventories - you can prevent the usage of wrong docking spots by decorating the outside.

      I think the idea is to choose between hit&run ability and dps. You should have the dps to disable a shield, but then in advance do much less damage. Think of Klingon War-birds.

      AFAIK d1000 have better stats, even if they don't show them and range is more flight time rather than range.

      I think it is not an either or. Just change the limit to mass, not size and require a docking area dependent on the size of the docking ship.

      Maybe it could work with more performance using indexed colors per ship. You could use a slider to adjust 16 colors for your ship or have 12 default colors + 4 adjustable colors. But I don't know how much work it is to implement this.
