Open the nav menu with 'n', There's a button called 'Filter' or something like that (games not in front of me...) Inside you can select which things get radar pings. Deselect docked and turrets if you don't want to see them.
I'm still working on it, but I managed to make a scope that seems to work. I created an open hangar. My drones are three blocks thick, and 13 blocks wide. Hangar is 6 blocks high and 15 wide.

I find the beams entertaining. The drills in space engineers were boring to me. I think you'll get a smattering of different opinions. It does get reptetive after awhile. In the long term I think mining will move to NPCs as a late game. So you'll do less of it and more other things, and really...
I'm hoping this comes in with Chairs and Stations. Being able to use inner ship remotes with a chair would be awesome on a station, and being able to put cameras around would be awesome as well. I'm down with that.
I like to do everything. I'm a bit lacking on the pvp right now as my server is a bit sparse for people.
I'd mainly fall between hardcore and casual builder. I'm still learning the details some of these folks create.
I think this is great, but I wanted it to create activity in the world, and opportunities for people to quests. I think it's cool that smaller/newer factions could start by helping deliver goods to the bigger trade guild and kinda have thier protection.

I think there are already considerable plans for offensive transportation, The main one was getting shields down, and then you would transport to a random quarter in the new quarter system. If they have no quarters, they have no crew and you can't board that way.
