      Jamming is 500e/sec per mass... Edit: And who is to say that the larger ship can\'t perform some of these same min/maxing for stats? If you are fighting a ship made for looks with a ship made for pure damage that is a difference in more than just shields.

      Exactly. I just made a post right above yours that explains what I think some of the next steps should be. Shields should not be the 100% answer to reducing incoming damage. Hulls should have a purpose and AMCs need to be weaker against them.

      And that (hardened hull armor) is what is really needed Right now there is no reason other than aesthetics to use hull. It is hardly stronger than any other item, so all it does is add mass. Its much better at this time to just create a ship covered in power, shield and weapons than any hull...

      I swapped both settings, didn\'t see any difference on my system, same FPS and planet seemed to take about the same time to draw (didn\'t time it)

      I\'m pretty sure the missile speed is Speedx10m/s. I was testing with 20 missile arrays with a speed of 2.2 and they were going about 22m/s (much slower than any ship) They also do 0 damage to shields unless they do more damage than shield available, so they can\'t even help burst down shields...

Seeing as it is not always possible to hit the speed cap of some servers even in a small vessel who\'s sporting 600% thrust to mass ratio... No, you won\'t always hit the cap.       You can say just add more thrusters, but this becomes unrealistic once maxing the speed in any realatively short time requires 300+% ratio of Thrust/Mass. I never said add more thrusters.. I said you both have the same max speed... if your large ship CAN\'T hit the max speed, then you fucked...

      Yep, most people whining are because they don\'t know how to PvP and have no defensive turrets / not enough offense, or haven\'t even tried and are just whinning because even though they now have 500k shields (or way more), their shields actually drop down in battle.

      Ok so let me get this straight... You have a ton of shields, and can do tons of damage, but you can\'t kill pirates even though a tiny ship with much less shielding and much less damage can? You are doing something majorly wrong.

      Don\'t use the scroll wheel to switch weapons, use the assigned number. Also if the weapon doesn\'t show up at all, go to the \"Weapons\" menu (\"T\") and assign it to a number.

      Except because there is a speed cap, all the large ship has to do is fly straight and reach that cap, and wait for the fighter to either disengage (can no longer strafe around the ship, only match its speed and follow, or slowly get farther and farther away), or die to turrets that only need to...

      Obviously he thinks he can win by using a hull full of shields instead of trying to fight back with weapons. If you were killed by pirates in anything but a tiny transport / salvage vessel... uhh... you are doing something majorly wrong.
