Left click with empty hand for a short range salvage beam shank, or some sort of "quick knife" thingy, or whatever?
...maybe swap the salvage beam for a handheld mining drill or pneumatic hammer and make it visually more impressive?
Fighters in Starmade are capable of causing extensive damage to a capital ship that has had its shields removed, if the fighter in question is designed specifically to cripple large ships. Specifically, things like Cannon-Pulse-Explosive come to mind, so that they can penetrate deeply into the...
Almost all of the series in which fighters are shown to be even remotely capable of killing capital ships either have no energy shields, or energy shields projected past a certain point which fighters can pass through - on the assumption that torpedoes in the future are all nukes and even a...
But they do do enough damage to sometimes deter and piss off capital ship pilots.
If you make it so that fighters are even remotely close to being able to kill a ship five hundred times their size, you're doing it wrong. As it stands, ships naturally can have an advantage against ships that are...
Fighters in space battles and fighters in naval battles are totally separate things.
A fighter in a WWII naval battle has an extra axis of movement and a ridiculous top speed. The equivalent to a WWII fighter plane against capital ships in a space game would be something silly like a time...
We're discussing ways of encouraging PVP and resource gains. It can be done with intelligent map design, admin faction structure placement, and wrapper shenanigans, theoretically.
The wrapper shenanigans are the hard part. Designing stations is the other hard part. :|
Entities with ridiculous levels of chain docking are unable to properly exist with the current folder naming scheme, due to the 255/260 character limit on file paths in Windows 7. This causes some pretty unfortunate shenanigans related to file access, blueprint sharing, etc.
I recommend...
Not including weapons or effects means that you're missing out on the entire point of a ship.
You can't make an "ideal" or "balanced" ship without balancing it based on its weapons and effects.
Invisible block outside build mode. Select warpgate computer, place exit marker at given position.
Entities that go through the exit marker will attempt to spawn with their cores at the exit marker. If the box dimensions of the entity trying to spawn at the exit marker overlaps with other...
I am also interested in StarD as well. Depending on how it works when it's finished, it might be suitable for a lot more types of battle gamemodes.
If you can pull it off, perhaps you could get it set up so that it features Map/World voting after X amount of rounds/minutes, and chat commands...
From what I've heard from my factionmates, this mod is exactly what I've always wanted in Starmade - a use for smaller ships, and an easy way to jump straight into combat.
Good going, guys, you're beginning to make me want to play the game again :P
