I want a voxel game with exactly this - also for power and other systems.
Some time back I suggested a config-option which adds a parameter to each block.
A is the computer.
B may only connect to A
C may only connect to B
D may connect to B+C
Then count connections and change stats. A gives...
Just project the planet-position onto a boundary box and map it to the universe.
The problem I see (and Seed of Andromeda is facing) is, which blocks are being displayed.
Imagine Santa Klaus' house on the north pole. Which block coordinates would it use?

1) Threads with no replies over a whole month get automatically bumped.
2) Threads with 3 replies and no like|agree get invisible for the author to reconsider it. He may make it visible again. (against over-suggested stuff)

I want mirror armour to deflect beams.
I would checker-board checker-layer anti-kinetic and beam-resistant hull layers to minimize optimal weapon usage against.
If armour is ignored, I would use shield capacitors or metal meshes as every second layer.

Stations require MANY different ports -> Stations become big -> Stations become REAL stations.
So we just need a reason to build MANY of them and a REASON to NOT complain about different docking systems.

I have set the mouse sensitivity to the max value in configs and it still isn't enough for some ships.
But a core or an astronaut will flip 180° and make every recorded video awful to watch.
Would you turn your head around at >10g IRL?
About passive effects: If you boost your ship's front side with ions, will it take only the front's mass or all mass?
OP, if only the outer hull layer's mass counts.
UP, if you need the same array and energy several times when you want your whole ship protected.

I hope there is a better way for selecting the right direction ... you would have to know not only where your rail docker is placed but also have to hit the correct target.
Once magnetic docking comes out, all except the wanted rail will be obstacles on your way to align to the right one...
