Anybody out there skilled with SMEdit?

Thank you e4278! It is awesome to finally see it in the game itself. :) Now I'll convert it to a station print. I still appreciate the attempt AtraUnam, thank you.

Were you able to try it with 2 or more gigabytes memory AtraUnam?

Anybody out there skilled with SMEdit?

I have a concept for a large organic looking space station based on 120 deg radial symmetry (3 equally spaced arms). After spending 4 or 5 hours (off and on) getting to know Blender 3d better, I have a very nice (I think) mesh shell in the form of a *.obj file. I would be pleased to share...

Anyone know how to remove a ship-core from a station?

Thanks for the information Megacrafter! I'll try that. Edit: Yep, works. Thanks for that!

Anyone know how to remove a ship-core from a station?

Anyone know how to get rid of a superfluous ship-core from a station blue-print? I would like to create a station by roughing out a shell in Blender 3D and pushing the mesh .obj through SMedit and BPC. I have tested this and it does work. But it leaves a ship-core in the final station blue-print.

      Database Compression

The savings for back-up time cannot be overstated. When running server maintenance every second counts. This kind of option would actually improve the games marketability. So it goes beyond mere convenience.

Thoughts on the IMO OP salvage (master) - cannon (slave)

So you are saying I am doing it wrong? Well, I will test that out at my earliest opportunity. ;) -Edit - Ok, I've had a chance to test it. I don't understand why half- second square-wave would work... It would be like me rapidly clicking my mouse button, which would result in a half a second...

Thoughts on the IMO OP salvage (master) - cannon (slave)

Yes I do. I never said I couldn't make the salvage/dam-pulse rig work at all. Just that the behaviour is inconsistent. My pure salvage beam array had the same emission:cooldown timing whether I manually control it or use a timing pulse driven logic rig. The problem is that the...

pirate stations should not be scrap

I think an active Pirate station with heavy shielding and calling in waves of fighters should NOT be scrap. OR should have useful resources drop as loot. After all, if it can effectively fight and defend then it isn't composed of garbage. If it were composed of garbage then it wouldn't be able...

Thoughts on the IMO OP salvage (master) - cannon (slave)

I did just that. Made a logic rig to activate the two in an overlapping fashion.... But they do not work the same when activated by logic as they do with a continuous mouse-click. :-( They emit a beam about 11 out of 15 seconds with the mouse-click. But only about 3 seconds out of 15 with a...

      NASSZONE Starmade Servers

That was a quick response! Thanks. Too bad you can't protect the spawn area. But since ships must be bought with blocks now, are you sure you need to keep things so harsh at spawn? In any case, I have to admit I like the extra pirates. And I really like the galactic bank feature! the daemon of...

      NASSZONE Starmade Servers

As far as I can tell, either sector protection isn't working or the NASS server spawn area needs looking after. Last night a newbie got ganked out of his blocks right next to the spawn shop by some opportunist. This would be impossible if sector protection were working. Also, the spawn area...

Steam Keys for those who purchased on the website

I am really happy to see this game on Steam. Since it works on Linux and Valve is a huge supporter of Linux gaming it should really boost the community.

Default jump drive distance cut by 25%.

I know about the configuration options. My main motivation for this thread was to see if anyone else noticed an apparent change in the effective jump distance. The actual in-game jump distance is based on a calculation that draws from more than just one variable. Sometimes someone will tweak a...

      Asteroid Distribution

Another question occurs: If they fix this bug, will established universes need to be reset in order to actually see the change? Edit- Ladies and Gentleman, Since it seems no one has posted this issue on the bug tracker, I took that liberty. It is bug#1358 and can be found at the link...

Default jump drive distance cut by 25%.

I guess I'm the only who think so, though it still seems a little short.

      Asteroid Distribution

I've been playing SM on a new server and trying to pull myself up by my bootstraps. I gotta tell ya, there's nearly no blue asteroids to be found. And I haven't seen a white asteroid since the new faction system came out, on any server, period. This isn't going to work. Shields and cannons are...

      Information Terminal

I would also like to see a simple kind of PLC ("Programmable Logic Controller") block that can tie inputs and outputs with the rest of the logic. Of course there would have to be a way to set natural limits to prevent larger systems from overwhelming the server, but in some cases encapsulating...

      I'll test it more.

Default jump drive distance cut by 25%.

I don't know if this is intentional or not, but it seems that the jump distance has dropped from 20 km to 15 km.
