Sweet! :-)
Cool! I've been wanting to do this for my own turbo lift project. I kinda dropped off this with the Wireless issues I was having.
Yeah, I found the same issue when using shootout rails for chain drive experiments.
I would drop out of jump only to see my piston trundling along in...
Lol, me too! :-)
I did find the rail speed controller handy to speed things up, but found the old gravity elevator trick is so much better.
Oh, the speed controller freezes at max speed on my single player mode. Guess that could be my PC as the bottleneck there though.
The connectivity side could operate the same way logic does without physical pipes. Using the way logic is connected it would give very little interference with existing designs.
Having physical connected power distribution makes logical sense in the real world, but this is just a game with...
Hi Schine,
Can we please have a button in Storage to allow us to sort by. It would be nice to have something we could configure as well as a default sorting option to sort the same way as creative. Like a "Sort by" button the brings up a few options including custom.
Example Sort by...
I guess the bonus would mean turrets would not need huge power banks like some people use.
Although, if you were docking a ship it would start to drawing power from the main ship. This would be the ideal time to strike as there would be a power spike. Unless you prevent power and then the...
I love the power management.
Does that mean 1 active reactor for the entity and it's chains or 1 reacter on the entity and 1 active reactor on each docked entity individually?
I've posted an update to my rotator harvester experiment.
LP Rotator Miner 01
I've also added ship remote so you can start/stop at your leisure while piloting.
Here is a more refined version of my rotator harvester using the rail basic swapped with a rotator.
The key is making sure you spawn the thing in the stopped state.
In a stopped state the rotating harvester component is docked to a rail basic. The basic remains connected to the storage whether...
Intelligence levels would also open up the possibility of schools or self training similar to SIMs.
Speaking of which, there is already AI in SIMs. All we need to something similar.
Was looking at the post Populate the world with neutral NPCs, not just monotonous factions by apelsinsaft and started thinking about what would be a quick way to have this happen.
I thought about, what would the NPC's be doing and how would they know what to do and how to do it.
Then I thought...
That is an absolutely brilliant idea! Making them opaque would make life so much easier!
I often build my windows as some random hull that's not a part of my colour scheme to compensate for that very issue.
Then I convert them to crystal or glass using the build replace tool.
Like Jake, I have wanted this ability since rails came out. I do remember a mention that Schine was looking to make it possible for rails to work across entities. This idea could be a good way to make it happen.
There tends to be a high expectation when using the word "Planned".
Perhaps for features that are something wanted, but unsure about actually achieving could be placed in a "Schine Wish List" or "Wanted by Schine List". Setting the expectation that Schine would like to see this feature in the...
