For the Ship spinning... I did a 360 of the ship I'm reviewing, then I have a Pre-Comp in After Effects that I put it in. That Pre-comp in turn has a bunch of effects added and the rotating wireframe pieces spin to the same speed as the 360 I filmed of the ship. Throw a few other pieces on top...
