Why are you against teleportation? It will be fun to teleport from ship to ship, or from station to ship and vice versa. And like @therimmer96 said: it will be very close range, possibly only one sector. I don't see how that could do any harm.
I guess it is a lot easier to add on to something existing, rather than creating an entirely new system for craftable weapons. Literally all they had to do was copy an existing item, the laser, and change its values.
Hopefully we'll see this once the creature system is up and running. I'm still...
This has been suggested before. I'm not sure who, but either Calbiri or Kupu replied to the thread it was suggested in. He wanted to know what people liked best: your craftable weapons or default weapons. Most people really like the idea of weapons and armor that you could design yourself...

As far as I could tell it is more effective to build hundreds of tiny drones with some weapons. The sheer number of drones will overwhelm any enemy and turret. The turrets simply don't know what they have to fire at anymore. Plus, if they are cannon turrets, odds are that they will miss a lot...
That immobility actually has to do with capital ship systems. I wouldn't worry too much about it. The devs know that we don't want immobile ships. Most do, however, agree that a lower speed would actually be a fun game mechanic to play around with.
Collision damage was originally a side project. I'm sure it will get updated eventually, but in the mean time we'll get things like galaxies and hyperdrive.

Everybody likes to make mini games. So why not add more blocks to allow them to do just that! These following functions can be set so they can only be used by certain people in a white-list type file (or everyone if left blank).

Because people can then conquer galaxies ;)
And they will, trust me on that. People will wage massive wars to own as much of a galaxy as possible. It just is something fun for people to do. It also will make them play the game longer.
