Ion effect is shield specific, so if the turret has ion and the parent does not then while the turret is sharing the parents shields ion will NOT be applied, once the turret is being defended by its own shields ion WILL be applied.

A large turret is still going to be able to track another large ship, unless that large ship has a serious amount of thrust, with the current thrust curves that ship is going to be seriously defficient in everything else.

I was more thinking along the lines of something similar to ship turning, a fullscale battleship turret is going to be slow and ponderous no matter how many mass enhancers you use and therefore will perform poorly against smaller faster ships.

Honestly I would love such a shape but it sort of sets a precident for people also wanting 1/2 and 3/4 wedge varients as well as all the slab wedge varients which would between everythign would total and 12 blocks per hull type and color. Though if its just a 1/4 wedge the I'm all for it.

+1 for this idea, though I would reduce firing arc rather than remove it, maybe an arc of about five degrees. Additionally turrets would also need to have size based turning, that way fighters would also be able to out turn the gigantic turrets often found on titans.

From someone who's actually tested this in-game. Don't listen too the ingame numbers as they are complete bullshit with no bearing on... anything really.

For the record, for the price of a single supercarrier any other country can build 1000 missiles that are virtually impossible to intercept with even a single one being completely capable of scuttling the entire ship.
