      In an idea world *cough* the fleet would try to mine what ever the mother-ship had selected as a target. Assuming that target as unminable the fleet would default to its current AI. This would resolve several issues, such as allowing drones to mine fallen enemies, planet plates, or stations.

      Refinery/Extractor Block for planets

      I could see it being useful for new players as a source of mesh/circuits. Which really is all you need to make the most basic components in the game and even the worst miner will end up with tons of mesh/circuits anyway. Maybe have a refinery pull scrap from the core making refineries more useful.

      I use mining drones with 40ish outputs and they seems to work fine until they reach the last 100 or so blocks on an asteroid. It's only then they have to pause and figure out what to shoot at.

Just place it next to a faction block, setup a price and assuming someone in a faction comes along and wants it, they pay the money and the faction block switches to them on the lowest tier permissions.
