      I don't think you can re-dock with logic, but as for transporters, if they are within the same entity I don't think it does (haven't played with them yet though, got into other things while waiting for cargo update, but shall return with that)

      Well, I can only think of possibilities that odds are you've checked, but I'll ask anyway; is the activation module activated and slaved to the speed module? perhaps you need mass enhancers, as being over mass will slow down the movement of rails (but you should get a warning for this)

      In order to get one of these plates to overheat however, you need to have broken the shield of the mothership, so odds are even if it didn't disappear after overheating, it wouldn't be much of a defense as the attacker obviously has enough firepower to break the most advantageous part of this design

      Unsure, I know that if you're within a certain distance (same sector I believe) you can pick them up on your nav screen, which also tells what type they are. This is probably much shorter range than you're wanting.

      Can scanners be activated by logic? If so, you could have a ship/satellite station that is designed around getting near instant scanning recharges and constantly pinging an area to prevent permanent cloaking in that particular area.

      Mobility should be linked more to rail mass enhancers than the size of the turret. (Although last I knew they're still a bit buggy in that the mass of the barrel is squared and multiplied by the base instead of being added, or something like that)
