Brainstorm This Factory Coordinator Computer [Slightly updated]

I considered that, too. Eventually, I decided that if all inventory management was handled completely by that one block, it would render the rest of the very well thought-out inventory systems largely purposeless. So, for the time being, a block that purely controls other blocks is probably the...

Brainstorm This Factory Coordinator Computer [Slightly updated]

Well, no, that would defeat the point of a control-only block. Essentially, if a player moving about really fast and setting factories couldn't do it, this block wouldn't. The aim is not to change any physical mechanics, only to control the existing functionality better.

Brainstorm This Factory Coordinator Computer [Slightly updated]

Like many of us, I have experienced the plight of managing a shipyard with a limited number of factories at my disposal. However, instead of making shipyards bypass factories altogether for a penalty, like some have suggested, I suggest we uproot the issue at it's core- factories are a tedium...

Read by Council Grid based logic computer system

Perhaps. Still, I would think it remains relevant. I'll repeat what I said in the other thread about this on the front page right now- as long as we also get to program properly in a text interface, I'm fine with any middle-ground visual systems that are implemented to accommodate the less...

Recognized User Programmable AI, via a grid system

Minor correction- It's Lua, not LUA. I know it's trivial, but the official lua site specifically asks people not to spell it LUA.

Recognized User Programmable AI, via a grid system

Oh will people please drop this strawman of "forcing people to program"? Never should one have to program something to enjoy the game, and these various drag-and-drop systems are a good approach to a middle ground. All I'm arguing is that conventional scripting should exist, as an option.

      Recognized Orphan Wormholes Please

Though, how is that useful? Current wormholes are, I've come to realize, fun. Charting courses through the various shortcuts the wormhole network offers is one of the game's genuinely entertaining aspects, and I support anything that expands on that, but a spit-you-out randomly-hole just isn't...

Recognized User Programmable AI, via a grid system

Maintaining a game-like aesthetic doesn't seem like a very good reason to fundamentally limit what one can do with a system. Implement as many dumbed-down drag-n-drop or grid system interfaces as you want, just keep the true, text-based programming there as a fully-equipped option.

Read by Council Remove low credit cap

Ever heard of floor()? It's not like the game has screwed up with the float arithmetics anywhere else.

Read by Council Remove low credit cap

Since the credit counter could easily be made a float, you very much can. And for the record, even if there was a hard limit, for something as simple as a credit counter, one could quite easily implement a custom counting system. It's a simple logic and, while perhaps much slower than raw...

StarMade Console Edition: Should it happen?

Regardless of the technical or developmental aspects, has no one pointed out that a console game is a huge bureaucratic undertaking requiring significant resources and manpower to develop with significant limitations on what you can do and when? It's simply not feasible for Schine to take that...

Charon 2.0 - A WIP super titan [Update 5 : new medium turret]

Also, what with the gradual blurring of the neat, right-to-left deployment? Not that it matters, but I have a hard time imagining what would make it gradually less linear like that. The lag again?

Uh, I couldn't help but notice the last door to the left didn't close properly.

Charon 2.0 - A WIP super titan [Update 5 : new medium turret]

You might want to go for 99,99. With 500 damage at 99,9999 ion it won't wreck much of anything, I fear. Also, is anti-ion chaff really that non-viable? I mean, in most situations it is, but I don't expect the Charon to be overly nimble. Putting a somewhat significant quantity of blocks between...

Charon 2.0 - A WIP super titan [Update 5 : new medium turret]

Does the ion beam have any block damage? It seems pretty viable to intercept with some sort of chaff cannon otherwise.

      Infrastructure vulnerability in Starmade

Oh dear. Here I was thinking if it worked on some passives, it would work on all. Oh well, add it to the list of why stations are useless.

      Infrastructure vulnerability in Starmade

I do appreciate that someone else favors renewable fuel, dealt with in terms of production capacity rather than raw quantity. "I don't want to grind for fuel" pops up far too often when it's being discussed. Sure, that sounds interesting. Yay for double-post auto-merge! Drones wandering off...

Can't EHP be increased nearly arbitrarily with armor values? I disagree with the idea of course, but it isn't impossible technically.

      Recognized Fuel mechanic proposal

Alright, sorry if this comes across as debate-y of me. That's kind of what I wish to avoid. Although giant crosses can certainly be balanced, they're not new. As a ship gets larger, it gets easier to squeeze in sufficiently-large lines. While I, for one, actually like the lines and crosses...

      Recognized Fuel mechanic proposal

Not quite, if the specifics are done right. Raising the softcap, you'd just have people building monstrously large crosses through their capitals, with even more monstrous power outputs. IVs would allow efficient power gen over the softcap, while still being somewhat limited and impractical if...
