Half of the modules are now complete, with the exception of about 75% of the internal areas, the armor on some of the spotlight arms in the middle module, and some turret fitting.
All spotlights now switch on and off from a single switch point on the Deep Space Scanner module.
This main switch...
Thank you for an adult response.
You make some great points and I totally understand what you're saying.
I also agree completely.
The point I make is this:
If we're going to make a more realistic and interesting power system, it should be done by making it more in the direction of realism...
"Fray".
Sorry, who's getting shat on?
Thankyou. :)
...So what you're saying is you'd like to have armor or hull blocks in those voids to block passage of weapons?
Cool. I agree. Lucky for you that's what Schine is considering implementing.
However if you don't want to have "junk blocks"...
Seems to me that the same people saying "we want to have to place fewer systems, it's boring" are the same people saying "don't want filler blocks" are also the same people want to make huge ass pvp ships.
So which is it? You want big ships with lots of power without having to plop a gazillion...
I am looking forward to building a bunch of other stuff, but for now I'm going to focus on the Shipyard and supporting props so that the rate at which I'm producing stuff doesn't grind to a halt.
I have uploaded a new progress video, which focuses on the internal fit-out of the hangar, as well...
I like this suggestion. Not necessarily treasure in a chest though. Maybe for example you need to retrieve a blueprint from a computer that allows you to create specific blocks. In turn this blueprint can be traded, so it becomes valuable. Perhaps like EVE it only licenses a certain number of...
I also do this, but only with current WIP.
Completed ones I manually go into the blueprints folder in windows and take out all the previous versions leaving only the final finished version, and put them into some archive folder somewhere in case I need to refer to them at some distant point in...
In game under the radial menu you select catalog to view all current server blueprints to select from.
Put icons on them showing what they are. Names aren't as helpful as a quick pic showing what you're wanting to spawn.
Comprendes vous?
Ooo I like that concept. So you could use it to generator torpedoes and drones still but it forces you to basically become a station for a period of time. Interesting.
I haven't ever built a warp gate. I guess I view a warp gate as an entirely different station with a different purpose.... although I think it should be close to the shipyard rather than off in the middle of space somewhere.
I'd love to make a really nice warp gate but that's a different...
Oh hi Andy.
I'm sorry I don't recall that exchange but it was a long time ago. I'm stoked you're reading about the build of Port Vandermier, that's cool.
I'll have to look up series two of Gary Kanes Starmade Adventures.
For now I've just finished the lower spotlight arm of the more heavily...
All excellent points.
Think of it less as a "shipyard on ships" and more as an ability to produce smaller entities on the fly. Realistically there is no reason why a large entity that is mobile could not produce smaller entities in exactly the same way that a station could.... just one has...
Thank you very much splat. Nice avatar name btw. Which youtube user are you?
I have set my Port Vandermier batteries of AMS to target all, and I have found that their constant peppering fire really is fantastic in keeping shields down and enabling the heavy hitters to take down enemies faster...
Thanks DSM!
It's heavier and less manueverable than a normal fighter of is size due to the jump drive and associated power systems but it makes for a decent standalone raider.
I'll be including it in the Port Vandermier build series shortly. I have also released all my construction drone props...
Ok so stay with me on this.
Shipyards are neat right... bugged but early days they'll get so much better and already are so much better than previous solutions.
But...
...what if...
...you could put shipyards ONTO ships?
"Why bother?", you ask.
Simple.
Combine it with an ability for a...
