Well, to support those super thick hulls they'd need a bunch of new thrusters to keep it moving, which would drain more power, so it would be harder to keep them active.

If it's possible (the blocks might all share the non-face texture), I'd say put the face texture on every side for your own convenience. Modifying the textures for your needs is always possible.

A turret will turn faster than a ship with the same shields and weapons, because it will be much smaller, as it needs no engines, little or no interior, power, power tanks, ect. That's what I was saying.
