      YOU can pilot the turret. You don't need a friend to do it. You can swap between pilot seats of docked entities. Or you can build a hallway or a grav lift or something that lets you access the turret by manually entering. With proper timing of the pull effect you can already do this.

      I can't actually tell what you're suggesting. Externally docked FTL drives? That's all I got out of it. I've downvoted because that sounds stupid. If you want an externally docked propulsion system, you can use Push Pulsars. Look up "Starmade Orion Pulse Drive", they used to be somewhat popular.

      You either use rapid turrets (lots of bullets makes them less likely to miss) or some sort of locking missile. The game has changed.       The ship also has coordinates for block placement. If a player is in gravity/grappled to a ship, the player's location in the ship coordinates are where they spawn on entering the game instead of their universal "space" coordinates.
