Push/Pull/Stop beams are your best bet for moving things throughout space.
Also, you used to be able to collect ore with a build block, but this has been changed. I talked to Calbiri about getting buildblocks on asteroids re-added months ago, and he said it'd be a quick fix, so I guess it got...
I'd give it an 8/10. I've been here a long time, and the community has improved. There's a lot less angry screaming about spies, for one. The removal of Ridik from the community basically boosted us a whole point.
Main community issues seem to be (to me)
Newbs raging because they don't...
Considering the range is pretty short compared to most weapons, I don't think this will be that large an issue. Fighters are most useful for taking out turrets from a distance, anyway. If you're doing a close range attack on a big ship with a fighter, you better know what the hell you're doing...
The public should definitely be vocal about these kinds of issues. But you probably shouldn't demand that he drop what he's doing and fix this instantly, because, while it does cause lag on larger servers, the game is certainly still playable without it being fixed.
And at least he's got...
So, essentially overdrive before the over 100% speed boost bug was fixed? Remember that short period of time when everybody was building "warp ships" that went ridiculous speeds (3000+ on 75m/s servers)
Let's be real here. Combat is not, despite what people frequently think, a 100% numbers game. Pilot skill and some good luck with your AI's aiming skills can easily turn the tide in a battle. If two ships of equal mass are fighting, the fact that a bit of that mass is interior hull isn't going...
The game is still missing a ton of core features. HP, creatures, AI factions, AI fleet control, etc. It's definitely not one of those perpetual alpha games that have all core features but slap on an "Early Access Alpha" sticker to avoid criticism.
The game is quite playable. If servers are...
Drones will destroy something even if they're only something like 10-20% of the opponent's total mass. This is mainly because they're so maneuverable and in such a large swarm that they're hard to get rid of.
A group of larger ships taking on an even bigger ship would probably need about 50%...
I'm against bubble shields, because it essentially gives turrets and the main ship a shared shield pool. Lack of a shared pool is a purposeful design choice by the devs.
