      Currently, each player has their own sensor scan history, within the navigation panel. I find that it would probably be better for ships to have the scan data stored 'onboard.' Pressing "R" on a scanner computer could pull up the radar signature list and the scan history for the ship in two...

      It's a caret, not a circumflex... At least, with the US English keyboard layout. In US-International it works as a circumflex AND a caret, which is nice.

      Actually? Yes. Problem solved. A roflstomp in this game should come in the form of an immense fleet of ships, not a single nigh-invincible 300,000,000 mass brick covered in turrets.

      Remember that unloaded ships can be loaded at any moment. If an enemy realizes that someone's using unloaded-combat ships, then they'll just load in the ships.

      That would mean that building a large ship's power system would just be a question of building the longest/most lines/snakes/power-jellyfish that can be crammed into the ship. This requires actual consideration of how and where you place your reactors. It does, and I think that's his intention...

      It is a "bug," sort of. However, it isn't that the larger radii don't work due to faulty code, it's just that Schema hasn't figured out a way to implement radial damage calculations for Explosive effect in a way that won't lag the game to hell, so it remains essentially an unimplemented feature.
