One thing you CAN do is rig a rack to automatically undock drones with a timer, activate the jump drive on it (with coords set at the enemy base) and jump out before the jump animation finishes. It might be hard...

Beams can't pierce through armor, unlike cannons. Also, there's a bug with beam hit registration being very broken at longer ranges, so that's probably your problem.
My titan has 36 PD turrets, swarms can't touch it (unless there's over 200 missiles) in longer engagement ranges. However, I find that the turrets have a much harder time shooting down missile/beam missiles due to their overwhelming flight speed, especially at closer ranges. So here's some tips...

Alright, just did a test with all turrets firing (apart from the PD turrets), fps count was between 22 and 50, sitting at 40 most of the time. And that's with the entire ship loaded in!

I used to get 15 fps with the wing turrets moving around, now I get 55! It sits around 60 with nothing moving. This is glorious!

It makes it easier to stay out of the bounding box since the dock is located at the very side. So yea, a line works too, just make sure to come at it from the side away from the station.
