The massive amount of lag and other issues from multi-sector entities means these would be extremely rare, especially since server admins would not be fans of them. Besides, how is that any different from a small warpgate connecting two planets?

I'm pretty sure rails are going to be faster in the future. Also, on grav tubes- for a simple single axis of travel tube, you really only a 1x1 tube. I'd much rather have in-ship player teleporters than what is essentially a pneumatic tube, anyway.

FYI, an easy solution to some of these kinds of problems is to put newbie area stuff on a docked platform with different permissions, while the main homebase is locked for them.

I agree that, as a starter, or if the information is too heavily contested with no actual proof from either side, a simple X > Y works. However, after that is done, other info should be added, such as the number of players on either side, notable maneuvers, masses of ships, etc.
