      a solution to homebase invincibility

I'd hate to be the vulnerable, new-to-the-game little brother who gets blamed for getting the homebase blasted while the rest of the faction was offline. Ouch! Sorry kid, but that's life in the 'verse....

      a solution to homebase invincibility

They wouldn't even need to enclose the sector borders. If they enclose another station or planet inside, then they have everything they need - and become a dangerous target for all other players on that server. (Seriously, at that point, whenever some person or faction "pwns" the universe in...

      a solution to homebase invincibility

Maybe the protected home base flag can turn off all attached factory and shop blocks with no option to turn them back on. Undeathinators should probably remain active. That way, you cannot build at home, and must go elsewhere to manufacture, trade, or salvage. That would kick at least one...

      Ultimate Ship Building Process!

The mention of companion cubes makes me sad.

      A list of block ideas

If it'll keep the game snappy, just maintain an invisible "bounding box" which interacts as a physical box object, even when the model is much smaller. Physical objects will bounce off "air", so it'll look a little funny, but mostly, it won't matter. It'll be frustrating for people when they...

Add-on to the planned faction system

Just some quick ideas on how faction points could work with regard to lone-wolf players: 1. Server-configurable max limit on "none" faction points. Maybe you can get up to some arbitrary number like 200,000 and you can't get any more no matter what you do, and that's the most blocks you can have...

      A list of block ideas

I definitely want a single computer block that can be configured for all the existing computer roles. That would make more sense. I'm not sure if we could recover block IDs. I'm guessing that your current idea is that the generic computer block will change into one of the pre-existing computers...

Transparency of the new Circuit Blocks

Thanks, that is interesting. It sounds like the devs went to at least 12 iterations for transparency. Out of curiosity, did you notice any significant drop in FPS?

      Ship Repairing Function

By all means, let the devs know about real exploits you came up with, so it doesn't get derpy.

Transparency of the new Circuit Blocks

That's an interesting idea! Two new realistic (assuming the texture mentioned in the OP is from the realism texture pack) texture packs titled "transparent" and "solid". "Transparent" textures would have transparent features on all images, while "Solid" would have no transparent features at all...

A pain for me at least(ship core exiting)

I have exited the game with my astronaut floating still inside the middle of a large, still structure (a stopped frigate-sized ship) with an adequate interior (3x3x3 room, plus a 3x3x1 plexdoor, with a 3x3x5 hallway in front of that, surrounded with 2m hull) and ended up thrown 20 meters outside...

      So who plays TF2?

I used to play TF2. Then I took an arrow in the knee. Then I found StarMade. One day, I hope to return to the Mercenary lifestyle. Let me know if they develop some sort of bread boss. I want to shoot at pastry, ever since a certain upgrade video came out.

What happens now that the station contest submissions are over?

I got my Thunderdome invitation in the mail. 82 stations enter. Only 15 leave.

      More Descriptive Tutorial

When the game is loading, I love the little text tips at the very start. There are some things in those tips that I just wouldn't know otherwise until after weeks of playing. I'm not a big fan of flipping through space before spawning, so when the game first starts up, it would be interesting...

      Fluids are fluids.

Currently the medical decoration blocks do nothing. You should be able to activate one and it regenerates some small bit of health over the course of a minute. It might take you a long while to heal up from almost-dead. However, you should be free to move about and do things while the...

      Docking groups

Hotbar logic is already planned (the devs are figuring out how to keep it sane), so you could set up a single activation block on the hotbar to launch 20 fighters at once. Or set up two activation blocks, so you launch 10 at a time. Or 4 activation blocks to launch 5 at a time. Etc. Can the...

      Fluids are fluids.

I had to vote disagree. Fluid simulation, even Minecraft-style block-level simulation, is computationally expensive. You'll end up with griefers drowning entire planets to overload a server to death.

Or just an empty shell made up of plants and dirt. Oh, I'd be so mad! :D

Add-on to the planned faction system

I think capping purchase and faction piloting will be a good thing... After the Alpha stage of the game. It'll be good for keeping new players in small ships in Beta testing and release. Players who get to play with gigantic ships will have earned the right. While the game is in Alpha, this...
