      That's a very good point. With the fleet competition it's really important that ships at the very least are able to inherit thrust from docked entities.

      One word: Breeding I imagine it would be weird if you are at your base and NPCs are just popping into existence. I'm not sure how population growth will happen, it may be something that happens only in an unloaded state.

      Passive effects already should stay on after you leave a ship, I don't think this state saves with the ship when a sector unloads though. Radar will become disabled... but yeah I agree.

      Eventually AI will be able to use all effects, and I am assuming cloak as well. In the future you should be easily able to turn on the AI or your crew will automatically take over when you are not online and will be able to use defensive effects.

      The game obviously already has the capability to do this so I could see the benefit of an option that lets us place any block in space... well I can think of one way this can be abused but I don't think that should prevent this.
