I mean, I guess that makes sense? But on the otherhand, it'd seriously break my immersion if there was a minor faction that didn't have JDs, despite their systems having a bunch of TG shops and battles involving larger factions that do have JDs to clean up afterwards.

The purpose of warp gates is immediate travel with no charge time over a much longer distance. Building a non-drone combat ship without a JD is like building a shuttle without thrusters. Does this mean AI are going to be using warp gates, though?

I know this was just an example, but please have all the factions use JDs. Nothing is more useless than a ship that can't get around.

It's not "bad style," but rather that factions (the people building the majority of the highly advanced tech and well balanced ships) don't want to share what they've learned, and for good reason- it could give their opponents an advantage over them. It wouldn't matter if the kind of stuff...

I'd assume generated ships would need to be operable by AI and have a matching theme (They all use thick advanced and love alpha weapons, or they all have high thrust and use 50% EMP DPS weaponry, etc etc).

I think it'd be nice if swarm missiles (or any missile) could hit their own ship once they'd left the ship's bounding box. This would allow for a nimble fighter to trick a big swarm boat into hurting itself with its own swarmers. It'd also make swarmers an ineffective anti-boarder tool, since...
