      If you're gonna go "muh realism" on us, please remember that 1) Starmade is not realistic 2) A truly realistic sci-fi would have AI controlled fighters, if any fighters were present at all, which is highly unlikely. Actually, there wouldn't be ANYTHING human controlled in combat.

      I'm pretty sure fleets will be staggered, and that we're JUST getting combat (and maybe local mining) this update. Long-range automatic mining will probably be a later update, as well as assigning fleets to move when you aren't around.

      I would like it if heat shielding allowed your entire ship/station to be protected from the sun if you had enough of the blocks, but this would come at the cost of other systems on your ship. I feel this loss of systems gets balanced out by the fact that you can essentially use the sun as a weapon.

      I like the idea of systems overheating and exploding, personally. I like that sun damage does not discriminate in its wrath to larger or small ships.

      If territory is going to be a reason to fight, which has been stated, I'm going to assume "this sector is important to fight over" is happening. I'd like you to go over a situation in which you could steal an entire base with a cloaker, assuming the AI will be able to use things like scanners...

      I don't think a "spoils of war" system is remotely close to necessary. The spoils of war are the wrecks you salvage and the territory you take.

      I would think a bomber would probably use missile/beam/pierce, split up among maybe 3 or 4 computers (to save on the power multiplier). The missiles should be as big as you can fit in the shell while still having shields, ion, and the power to support the missiles.
