I'm sorry, what? I don't see any claims that the Starter Cargo or Lucifer are ships in the mainline Vaygr fleet, just that the ships were owned by Vaygr.
Shattered Skies tried to do this and it failed to encourage faction battles, just slightly increased skirmishes between random players and the occasional faction. The kinds of people who go to fight at these events don't care about the resources of the drop, they're just there for the fight. You...
Doesn't matter.
If Hyperspace REQUIRES being another dimension to work, then it'll be that, but that doesn't mean it needs to be another dimension from a gameplay perspective, only a backend deal. Schema's said he doesn't want to do multiple dimensions.
I would rather have large planets have the same shape, so that I have more flat surface area to build upon. Plus, multiple smaller entities often cause more lag than a few large ones.
I'm pretty sure that Schema wants to avoid additional dimensions and such. I can understand the need for it...
You do realize that docked entities increase the ship's mass and increase the amount of ion modules needed for full effect, right?
I'm all for allowing server owners to turn this off, but your logic for why is incredibly flawed.
I don't think you really thought this through. Again, let server...
No.
Wormhole facility might be interesting. I would assume it's a very small wormhole, considering how they're normally the size of an entire sector.
Weapons facility, no. At least, not for ships. Astronaut weapons I would be OK with, but ship weapons should not have rare uberpowerful...
It's not necessarily a bad thing for people to not be able to repair ships on their own. How many people do you think would be able to maintain their computers or their car without an expert? There'd be nothing to stop you from repairing the ship the hard way, but if you wanted it done...
Another thing I like about this is that it'd make espionage harder and more interesting. If someone infiltrates your faction to steal a ship, they would need to physically transport the ship somewhere for storage for it to be picked apart.
I would say that there should be some sort of design...
I've seen suggestions to replace pulse with something like this, which would certainly be a lot better than the current.
I don't really see what advantage DOT has over instant damage for block destruction.
If you jump away from combat, you have lost the fight. Retreat is defeat, or, at the very most, a draw. If someone is a big enough coward that they can run away from my inhibitors, then the likely aren't that good of a fight anyway.
There is no limitation system that cannot be gotten around if you allow free accounts to vote. However, if you make it require a paid account, it's expensive to rig the vote, and it will only become increasingly expensive as the game rises in price and the community grows in size. I doubt most...
The main problem I see with adding tons of weapon types is that they should be filling a role rather than just a different look.
For example- flak fills the role of an anti-drone weapon (something we will almost certainly need to keep things balanced as drones get more and more popular)...
