so far my mining drones work as a fleet but they are not large(300-400 mass)and use a narrow mining beam(waffled 8x8x25l),they just need orders reissued from time to time.(these have been used on 3 different sp/lan worlds and 2 online servers),some say its to due to vessel size,center of mass...
looks good so far,for better mining you should layout the modules in a "checkerboard"pattern and fill in with canon modules to slave to the salvager module.
if you are playing single player you can open inventory(I) and select creative and build anything you want.it's a different story if you are playing on server,you my want to find a mentor online and also read the sm wiki's.
Today I learned that the fleet ai post update had a big brainfart,pre update me and my 8 drones faired well against raider ships,lost all drones but 1 post update!
maybe with the new aux reactors they could make them charge shields by linking a shield supply beam to reactor and only allowing transfer when shields at 0%. The nerf would be getting the reactor online for transfer before they cut through your unshielded ship.:eek:
My problem with the fooken pirates on some servers is you go shopping in a "safe sector":pyou rek there raiding fleet and they just send in wave after wave until most of your drones are messed up and you say the hell with it and go home.They should only attack until your disabled or they are ...
just admin warp to a void sector in creative mode,and don't forget to give yourself god mode(nothing worse then pirates crashing your party,i know from experience :()
I think change can be good(but I don't build ships over 10k),so having to upgrade gives you a chance to change things you might not of liked on the original .I'm just hopeing they bring out the npc updates soon for us rp players :)
So when I logged into one of my favorite survival servers to start ship upgrades our storage was almost empty at the faction base,there was no signs of forced entry and it was a factioned homebase. After checking hings over only thing amiss was the shop module pulls were set to 9999 and no owner...
I've noticed that with the enemy ship stats showing on hud will contribute to if you will attack or tuck tail and run. Maybe if you couldn't see the other ships stats of power/shields/structure it would add a little danger to any encounter by showing just ship name,and structure health.
