Fixing What Isn't Broke: Planet killing
or
Making planet atomization lucrative but dangerous.
I have a love/hate with planets. I like big planets. I dislike how they lag. Planets can be very interesting to explore. They can also be very frustrating to get lost on. Something that's really gotten...
the only time you need to worry about the 'purchase version' is once SM goes beta.
even then, compared to other shipbuilding sandboxes, it's as inexpensive as starbound.
knowing schine it'll end up on sale just before leaving early access too.
i'd like to see more of a hybrid pve/pvp warfare. have a mission sent to all factions disputing the sector that the NPC fleets are engaging one another and this is a chance to score some points. pvers can focus on landing on a bigger ship and taking a turret, boarding a hostile NPC asset or...
Imagine if your tasks had a direct impact on the affiliated group. The more you 'do' the bigger the area of space they control. The more patrols are sent out. The better that group's negotiation posture would be. Which means access to other affiliation's higher tier goods. But there might be a...
Got a BP of the logic for that and your door/chest password? I'd love to study that if only to see the theory in practice. I might not have the savvy to actually pull it off tbh. Even with it spelled out for me.
I did experiment with having a batch of tasks pre-written on displays and logic switch between them with a button press. It kept breaking. I did toss it out because there was no way to acknowledge the user completing the task or swapping tasks when one was fulfilled.
I think they'd be willing to use a room while they mine if there's something to actually DO on the affiliated base. That's an over all problem in SM tho. I've managed to pull some friends in but only if I give them tasks. I don't mind being a quest giver but gotta be online and not everyone...
I always wanted to see home bases wiped. They end up being more trouble as left over bases just sit there taking up valuable core system sectors. What I'd like instead is a baseline NPC alliance that fosters the players. You sign in to a new server and you get asked "What's your affiliation?"...
I'll use 50^3 built by others as fighters so I build docks for them but most of mine fit in 30^3 save for the multirole or superiority subclases. those get as big as needed to do the job but rarely go over 50 meters in any direction.
these two are my smallest. the starseed maxed out the 11^3 of...
This related any way to the Fireball XL5? I thought the fleet was complete after the Fireball XL30.
And it looks pretty good from the outside. Reminds me a bit of the SDF-1. I wonder if it could house 10 other ships within 50x50 docking areas. Then it'd make a snazzy carrier.
IGN- WarSong
Why you want to join the server- epic pop time jokes
Example of your work- Stardrop Salvager
Your favourite type of cake- i'm a fan of tarts specifically creamy ones like cheese cake
Doomsider decided to let it go. I still have the last backup we made and I've made several private servers to experiment with trying to find a balance to kick NASS back online.. If in name only. Doesn't seem worth the hassle. Plus I don't have the heart to gather and exploit a full time...
always start with a role in mind. build the system that is most vital to that one role (like a missile cruiser, miner, scout fighter w/e) then cover that in enough armor to handle a hit from a weapon system with similar power to the most aggressive weapons system included on the ship. add all...
i have to disagree with crusade. i would agree if this forum were for a rated T, M or AO game. SM at its worst would hit the E10+ for humor and maybe language once more of the universe is scripted. if you can pick up this game and play it then the forum should reflect that. while online...
