      i think the idea was more to scale down the system requirements of ships in terms of blocks, so that ships can retain function, even if they have extensive interiors, such as the enterprise he mentioned.

      I believe RabitBat is trying to say that we condense blocks basically. make 1 block = 10 in mass, power usage, cost, and weight, so that ships don't HAVE to be 90% systems to be functional.

      you're misunderstanding... I'm saying AS A SUPPORT SYSTEM it will be easy to re-balance as needed. NOT modifying the BASE salvage system.

      I still thik the idea that making it a slaved system with a %chance to steal blocks on impact with beam, cannon, or pulse weapons would be 100x better, and much easier to balance than this suggestion.

      What will happen to the multislots? Will each block in a multislot count against a stack? or will they all have the same cap (Example, if 1000 is the cap, can you have all five types of grey hull at 1000 in one multistack, which takes up one spot. Or, can you only have a maximum of 1000 blocks...

      So, you can't make them work similarly to the activation gates with built-in wireless logic instead without a rebuilding of them then? I'm also curious about what testkil said, would locking the entities work?

      Docking it to something would defeat the purpose of it being on a ship. Maybe the gates become temporarily static while the race progresses? I know ship-to-ship connections can be made, seeing as wireless logic is able to do it, so hopefully that won't be a hard issue.

      I was wondering why this was not made a part of the race gates... It would be so awesome to have the ability to bring an impromptu race with you wherever you go, and would easily promote this new feature to be flexible. It's just odd that they're restricted to only stations to be honest....

      Those are used mainly as damage after the shields drop, accompanied by a suppressor weapon/turrets to keep the shields down while in use. The salvager being used has literally no purpose.
