      Well, after digging around for a few hours I fixed it. It appears that defining an amount of memory to launch Java with in the system environment settings causes the game to refuse to launch.

      Predictable game state? No idea what that is. ^^ Link me a third party launcher if you can, dunno where to get them. Downloaded a seperate copy of the starter, also re-downloaded entire game, still same issue. I'm not getting any error (unless I click the Starmade.jar directly) just literally...

      Tried re-downloading the entire game, new launcher, new install folder. Still wont load. Guess I can't play Starmade anymore. :\

      Okay so I used the search to find the launcher, and it was outside the Starmade folder, so I loaded it, it said "installation found" at the proper location of my game, said I have latest version, but when I hit Start Game, nothing at all happens? So I tried moving it into the Starmade...

With long work hours at the moment I've only just this morning been able to download the newest Starmade version and check it out, this weekend I'll be focusing on upgrading all my older builds to MK-II variants...

      Here's a clever idea - don't set prices of objects so high that you can pretty easily hit an integer limit. Game development basics. Do a blanket reduction on all prices by ~90% (including basic starter creds), and we'll be golden.

      Absolutely not, it would destroy the combat system. Having a small chance at some damage bleed through when your shield falls critically low would make a little sense, but having some damage go through all the time? No way. Not with how block damage works in this game.

      Nope, definitely chemical, smoke trails don't happen with Ions.

      The ones used by the Immortal you mean? At the moment they are literally just shield blocks surrounding a 3^3 reactor, though they'll be getting a redesign during the 0.15 weapons refit. They just exist to take fire away from the main body and give the main shields regeneration time.

O.o Slow but almost limitless acceleration and efficient fuel usage is the basic staple of the Ion engine, that's not going to change with time, you might get improvements like even more efficient fuel usage, but you can't change to absolute basic elements of a system without transforming...

      You're joking, right? Ion propulsion technology has been around for years, there's even a NASA spacecraft called DAWN in the asteroid belt right now that uses the Ion engines.

      Any kind of missile or rocket that leaves smoke trails is chemically propelled, Ion engines don't leave that trail, neither are they capable of enough acceleration to cross a section of space in reasonable time (like, even slower than current missiles) Also, Ion engines don't work in an...
