Yeah, also the ships you mention are not as "big" as you think. When build, they were considered quite big but since optimizations to the game, big got bigger. Since then there has been many excellent big ships build, and I could name a few if you want, but updates are fast and furious lately...

Good stuff! Try using more tetras with those heptas. Play with details and shapes a lot, the more you play with them now, the faster you'll build later. Also, dont worry about going big fast, great looking ships come in all sizes and its just as hard to get a small ship to look good as a big...
