Hm odd, I only picked out about 10 random values to change, and all of them merged fine.
Just to clear things up first...
Do NOT change the config in:
- ./StarMade/data/config
You're supposed to change the config name of
customBlockBehaviorConfigTemplate.xml
into
customBlockBehaviorConfig.xml...
I changed it in the block editor tool and although I can link the turret axis to the storage chest, it doesn't pull. There's probably some check in the code to prevent it from working.
It's not a bug, this was done on purpose. Probably you just have to enable linking to a turret axis in the blockconfig.xml and it would work (I'll check this myself when I have some time).
The reason why it was disabled is because turrets were not intended to have storage/act as storage. However...
We can easily adjust the balance on cargo, at this moment it's been set to a low-ish number since it's better to buff it later than nerf it. The latter would be paired with item loss once chests/factories/shipyards start dropping items once they go over capacity...
Don't worry though, normally...
I think I saw a graph somewhere but might as well post a more official one:
Y-axis: power regen/second
X-axis: block count of a single reactor group (with increasing dimension, so basically a line or a L shape)
The blue line is what we had:
1 mil soft cap with 1.000696 power growth
The...
Yes, it's pretty much what we should use. Keep in mind that there will still be a difference between old and new regen when you're approaching 1 000 000 regen. Using that value would mean an old 800 000 regen ship has 1 000 000 now but I think that's OK, it's pretty much what we want.
From the amount of feedback in here, I notice that we indeed should have adapted the power growth factor so the same amount of blocks now would have a similar regen as before.
I apologize for this mistake and it will be corrected for next release.
That was our first release cycle so everyone who posted a suggestion before can do so again.
We'll extend the process it takes to get an approved suggestion into a release build then.
Now when a suggestion is approved by the council (weekly meetings) and we have found a good value for it...
I just checked the block config and unfortunately it seems the Micro Assembler is the only inventory using block that can't link to cargo space. This will be fixed asap, thank you for mentioning this.
However, I can't reproduce that salvage computer issue. My own salvagers work fine linked or...
No, this doesn't push the issue to the 3 million mark. At that size ships have enough volume to fill with functional systems and they don't need a buff.
I'm not suggesting anything, I'm simply providing you the argumentation why it was buffed.
Each block has its volume set as mass currently as default, we're planning to give each block its own volume but that's for the next release. Cargo is new and it depends on feedback on how we'll change volume numbers.
The cargo system does use volume, and the mass added to your ship is...
Well, something similar happens for 2 things:
- You mass place X blocks but you don't have that many, a portion of them will get removed afterwards.
- Obtaining slabs as a standalone block (by using admin commands), placing them will auto remove them almost immediately.
In both cases it's the...
It's not reported but you're never sure till you know how to reproduce it. It could be related to another issue, I use creative mode all the time in multiplayer and never noticed this before. Is this perhaps a singleplayer only issue?
A single simulation is a group of AI ships. Every (SIMULATION_SPAWN_DELAY = ) 420 seconds, a single simulation is spawned. Where depends on the current loaded sectors (so if you have 50 players online, the chance of something spawning at your location is very low than if you were the only one...
They do yeah, but that would only free up maybe 100 blocks or so. Not really significant if you're considering to add slabs for every block out there + even more slab types (like wedge slabs, corner slabs, "stick" slabs,...)
Currently doors/forcefields/hull/glass have slabs. That's in total close to 170 new blocks. I would love to see more of the slabs you've mentioned. Like floor 1/4 lights that you can walk on ^^ (I disagree with the non physical part).
But yeah, we only have 2047 ID's and we're already close to...
Both of you don't know what you're talking about. The tester team did get told that the storage system received code overhaul in preparation of the cargo system. We didn't know about pulling breaking on *existing* structures only after release. Me and another tester checked it out, but only on...
