As far as I know, the ability to move your ship core is still planned but isn't a priority right now.
It's not a trivial thing to implement, it's pretty much converting your ship to another ship which doesn't sound easy if you have to do it real time without risking data loss.
I don't know too...
Turn off "Use linear mag filter on Blocks (restart required)". You need to restart Starmade before the changes are applied though.
The option is in Settings -> Graphics
It's a bug and yeah, hasn't been fixed by now. The beams damage should all add up to the 1st armor block it hits but some of that gets lost. I suspected it was the remaining ticks not adding up correctly but it may be something else related to the amount of blocks it would penetrate otherwise.
I...
Thanks, if you find more of them, make sure to add them to the original list.
I already made most of my own conclusions on this matter but it always helps to read other suggestions related to the subject.
I'm not entirely sure how much it would affect performance but an exact system like this will hurt it. The main reason why we have AHP is because it barely affects performance, if at all. It allows us to put a number on "armor" strength and apply it on the entire ship.
How we transfer the AHP...
Yes, galaxies are each 128 systems wide so in this case, anything between 64 and -64 is an acceptable parameter
Schine is small and most of us work on Starmade as a part time job. I keep myself busy with the bug tracker and testing of the game, while AndyP does support. Neither of us has the...
Later that could be a possibility with the right server settings. Disable the replenishing of asteroids would also mean you have to increase the amount of resources each system can hold, or each system will run out of juice after an hour ^^
Right now only the NPC use this system though, see...
A follow up on this to explain myself a bit better ^^
The BAD of the current AHP system
Doesn't scale well:
50% reduced of 100 damage, or 50% reduced of 1 000 000 damage is the same for shield damage. But for block HP it's not since each block has a lower HP threshold than damage to be dealt...
I had my own idea which is similar to yours.
For starters: I would get rid of the AHP absorption of damage since it doesn't scale properly. And you would lose AHP for each destroyed block's AHP x factor (similar to SHP).
I don't want AHP to become a second shield though, at least not in a way...
A normal player right now can't possibly hold 25-50 systems on their own due to balancing (Faction points) and missing mechanics.
Eventually, player factions will have access to similar tools that NPC factions use. For example passive mining of claimed systems and unloaded production in some...
That would be me. I made this entire faction in under 10 minutes.
It's understandable that not every player out there can reach this level of building structures, it's also why I'm special. Perhaps with enough practice you might be able to do it.
Well I assume it wouldn't increase or decrease performance (aside from bugs). But as I haven't seen the system in-game yet and given the fact that I'm not the person coding this system, I don't see how I'm supposed to know that.
Yeah, that's reported on the bug tracker. And you're correct about the SHP thing. Blocks removal will deduct its SHP value from its SHP pool. I assume he's talking about block destruction in this case. Where beam damage propagation doesn't work properly (which is true when armor is involved).
Is there some suggestion thread that writes all these issues out completely with suggestions for a better system? This is rather vague and can be interpreted in many ways.
"weapon and armor scale in stupid ways", "Armor can't stop penetration weapons", "AI can't prioritize or lead targets" are...
Glad to know there's someone who shares the same view of procedural worlds as I do. I've always considered a game focused on procedural worlds to be a weakness. Nothing feels unique or worth exploring if it's an infinite and random world.
Same goes for its procedural quests, they are meaningless...
There's no such hidden command, it was a hypothetical example of a worst case scenario. Also, assuming that I'm speaking the truth that there is a command that requires 4 input keys is silly. But who knows? There may or may not be one that requires 4 input keys to do something magical.
