or keep the activation button and use it to turn off the pickup point when not in use
Link the activation to a button and then back again.
Then you the pulse as the indication. Its the same bug as the activation linked to a cargo block with it not turning off when state changes
I think he means a sensor block on the rail and then the activators set to start/stop the rotation through a speed controller.

i've had this happen with faction permissions as stated above, but also the rail docker orientation/positioning.
Try adding more green rails around the catching rail or better yet observe the whole process in build mode, you may have crossing over green rails
