Thanks to improvements in our terror-dyne weapon systems, nuclear hamster reactors and newly found pizza rocks in a neighboring star system, we at Liquid Systems Nano-Yard are proud to present our latest updates to some of our classics... First up is the new LSs.1.03 Kuwaga otherwise known as...

For anyone interested I am currently updating my builds to work with this new weapon ratio system. The following have been done are just being fiddled with to get uploaded.... Kuwaga mk3 (skipped mk2 as I was building it while the update was released) Kabuto mk3 Ju Ga mk3 Cicada (huge update...

I gave the chain docked method a whirl and it works a bit strangely. The first docked object will not trigger anything. However the second docked object will trigger. So the trigger will always be on while it's docked, or just in the general area. As a plus this means it'll start on and can then...

I can't help but feel like this whole thing has somehow been done before... yeap... that is our R&D team (all of us), hard at work. :p

The problem with that(dockable plates) is that it doesn't work. I tried a hundred different ways to get something similar to work and it just doesn't count the turret as a separate entity. So no go on the motion detection. It could work if you destroy/undock the turret, but that's basically the...

Thanks, :) I've been slowly trying to improve my designs overall. Keep each new ship held to a higher standard as it were. Templates make the job so much easier too. If you look closely you can pretty much tell where templates were, and were not used. :p Best part of online classes, you can...

I wish I had time to be bored, doesn't seem like I'll be getting time for even that in the next few days. I'll keep writing down notes though, it's the only real way I can save whatever crazy ideas I come up with. I have a lot of those as well, we'll see if they work their way out in the coming...

I have yet to do a detailed pass over the outside of the ship yet. The hazards are all part of the template I was using, it is kinda overboard. I might just swap out a few dozen or so of them for something else. It'll be a little while though, swamped with work and college for the next few days.

Also AI can't use Jammers so the support ship would have to be Player operated. Not that it's a bad idea, a skoom-deployer would be kinda fun. It's just you can't command it to go off on it's own and then deploy stuff. Currently we still only have limited deployment methods.

The Drone Destroyer is finally nearing completion. I have yet to give it an official name but here are some photos and current stats (subject to minor changes). The only thing remaining is to finish up the logic circuit to launch the drones. Otherwise much of the ship is ready to roll...err fly...

@Thalanor I'm not sure it would work on a hull breach unless you have a spare core lining the underside of your armor. However you could use it to slow down hull breach by activating either a shield booster (which is 60% damage reduction to shields) or an armor booster (additional 50% damage...

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

It has been quite a while since anyone has posted here so let me be the first to break some ice. I have done it. The it to which I refer is the problem of how to launch drones automatically with no input from the player what so ever. Yes, now AI only ships can launch drones! The solution to...

So after work I came home and worked on the drone destroyer or frigate or w/e I'm building. I can't even tell anymore, it simply defies classical reasoning. Anywho, was working on making some teeny tiny turrets for it and then thought... "hmm how small can I make this look good?" Long story...

Update: Due to an unfortunate, schmelting accident, the above ship has been terminated. In it's place a new Frigate is being made which uses many of the same parts and features as both it, and it's predecessor, in a smaller format. 2 Reasons for this... I wasn't liking how bulky it was...

Update: Regarding the Drone Cruiser Destroyer; The Outer-most "Shell" is nearly finished on top. Took quite a while to get the angles right, otherwise it'd have been done by now. Now includes Fully Functional Automagical Air locks! A quick shot of the underbelly. You can see the logic...

Update 1: I was not happy with the wing shape of the original Ju Ga (gun moth) so I decided to rework the wings while keeping the systems intact. After a bit of fiddling around I came up with the Ju Ga mk2. It boasts slightly higher shield capacity, recharge, and lower mass along with a cheaper...

Among the many things I've done today is come up with a new classification system for my ships and drones. I realized that they were lacking a certain alpha numeric aesthetic that I could paint onto the sides of my larger vessels. So the following is how I'll do it... Lets work with an example...

The Kuwaga, is a stag beetle type drone with heavy crushing pincers in the front and raised "second-leg" missile launchers. These drones are designed to deal heavy damage to large targets. The Kuwaga comes standard with a pair of Ex5 Scatter Lasers, perfect for making mincemeat of smaller...
