People are upset at this update? All I see is an innovative new mechanic that will pave the way for future additions to the game. Solving lag and giving people new things to consider when building at the same time in a way I couldn't even imagine myself. Bravo Schine & Council!
I would enter this with my stuff, but unfortunately all of my ships focus on combat over roleplay (with relatively basic aesthetics I guess?). Oh well :(
I did not vote. Strange as it may sound, I don't think who is in the council matters at all, so long as they can work together and actually do things. The previous council never caught my eye and had me saying "wow, thank god we have a council!". Hopefully this one will do better, or convince me...
I love the new Cargo system, I really do. That aside, I have one major problem with it.
There's generally no reason to bring cargo from Point A to Point B
Off the top of my head, I can think of 2 exceptions.
1. Mining asteroids/planets and bringing them back to base.
2. Trading resources...
Something to note about trying to standardize cargo: Shape and size matters, but so does cargo capacity. Because starmade is built with cubes, I can only assume a cube shaped container would be the most efficient volume per surface area. So in theory the most efficient shape would probably be a...
I would definitely be a fan of either
A: Punishing Isolationists who spend 30 minutes of their life going from starting galaxy to another galaxy to be "safe". Punishing meaning have some sort of downside outside of no human interaction... which isn't even a downside to them.
B: Better resource...
I know I shouldn't be able to, which is why I never even attempted to until now. It's also maybe a possibility that despite getting a success message I didn't actually whitelist? No idea what happened there.
I don't see a problem with the shield drop requirement. As you can't teleport on to enemy ships during combat (unless they leave theirs on public...) this shouldn't even be arising as an issue. Outside of combat where do you need shields? This is just how I view it. Are you teleporting to...
Anyone have turrets designed to be used by humans? Perhaps a ball turret similar to ww2 bombers, or even remotely controlled turrets? I'm in need of an idea for how I can improve my idea for human-controlled turrets. I also want to keep the turret profiles small if possible, I'm a fan of...
