      I also dont have a lot of experience with them. However after a lot of trial and error I figured out that the Capital Ship (The first ship in the fleet) Will not mine. So Make sure your mining ship is not the Capital.

I believe that we should removed Salvage beams and add a salvage effect to the game. So that if you wanted a salvage beam you could link salvage modules to your beam cannon...

      I'm am still hoping that Salvage gets turned into an effect. Salvage missiles anyone? Or salvage Cannons? Then they would already be integrated into the turrets. The AI would need a "Target Salvage" setting though.

      I wouldn't necessarily want salvage drones. However I would love to have salvage turrets that could target non-factioned, non-piloted, overheated ships.
